| 14:0 AVOIDING RASH JUDGMENT:
| 14:1 Զաչսդ ‘ի քեզ դարձո. եւ զայլոց գործս զգոյշ լեր չդատել: Ի դատել զայլս՝ մարդ զուր ջանայ, յոլովակի սխալէ, եւ դիւրաւ մեղանչէ: Իսկ ‘ի դատել եւ ‘ի քննել զանձն՝ միշտ ջանք իւր են յօգուտ: Որպէս զիարդ են իրք ‘ի սիրտ մեր, ըստ այնմ սովոր եմք դատել զնոցանէ. զի զուղիղ դատաստան՝ առ առանձնական սիրոյ՝ դիւրաւ կորուսանեմք: Եթէ առ Աստուած էր յամենայնի բերումն ըղձից մերոց, ոչ այդպէս վաղվաղակի խռովէաք ընդ դիմադարձութիւն կարծեաց մերոց:
| 14:1 TURN your attention upon yourself and beware of judging the deeds of other men, for in judging others a man labors vainly, often makes mistakes, and easily sins; whereas, in judging and taking stock of himself he does something that is always profitable. We frequently judge that things are as we wish them to be, for through personal feeling true perspective is easily lost. If God were the sole object of our desire, we should not be disturbed so easily by opposition to our opinions:
| 14:2 Բայց բազում անգամ ղօղեալ կայ ինչ ներքոյ, կամ ընթացակցի ինչ եւ արտաքոյ, որ եւ զմեզ միահաղոյն ձգէ զկնի: Բազումք ‘ի ծածուկ զանձինս խնդրեն յամենայնի զոր առնեն, եւ ոչ իմանան: Թուին եւ ‘ի բարւոք խաղաղութեան կալ, յորժամ յաջողեն իրք ըստ կամս նոցա եւ ըստ հաճոյս. ապա եթէ այլ ազգ ինչ քան զհաճոյս նոցա պատահէ, անդէն վաղվաղակի խռովին եւ տխրին: Առ պէսպէս մտածութեան եւ կարծեաց յոլովակի ծագին երկպառակութիւնք ‘ի մէջ բարեկամաց եւ քաղաքացեաց, ‘ի մէջ կրօնաւորաց եւ առաքինեաց:
| 14:2 But often something lurks within or happens from without to draw us along with it. Many, unawares, seek themselves in the things they do. They seem even to enjoy peace of mind when things happen according to their wish and liking, but if otherwise than they desire, they are soon disturbed and saddened. Differences of feeling and opinion often divide friends and acquaintances, even those who are religious and devout:
| 14:3 Զսովորութիւն հնացեալ ոչ վաղվաղակի է թողուլ. եւ քան զիւր տեսութիւն եւ անդր՝ ոչ ոք մտադիւր բերի: Եթէ կարի իմն ապաստան ես ‘ի տրամաբանութիւն քո կամ ‘ի հանճար, քան ‘ի հնազանդական առաքինութիւն Յիսուսի Քրիստոսի, հազիւ երբէք եւ անագան լիցիս այր լուսաւորեալ: Զի Աստուծոյ կամք այս են. հնազանդ լինել մեզ նմա յամենայն, եւ բորբոքեալ սիրով զանցանել զամենայն տրամաբանութեամբ:
| 14:3 An old habit is hard to break, and no one is willing to be led farther than he can see. If you rely more upon your intelligence or industry than upon the virtue of submission to Jesus Christ, you will hardly, and in any case slowly, become an enlightened man. God wants us to be completely subject to Him and, through ardent love, to rise above all human wisdom:
