63:0 ՎԱՍՆ ՔԱՀԱՆԱՅԻՑ ՎԱՆԱՑՆ:
| 63:0 Of the Priests of the Monastery:

63:1 Եթէ երէց զոք կամ սարկաւագ կամիցի Աբասն ձեռնադրել, ընտրեսցէ յիւրոց անտի որ միանգամ արժանի քահանայութեան իցեն:
| 63:1 If the Abbot desireth to have a priest or a deacon ordained, let him select from among his monks one who is worthy to discharge the priestly office:

63:2 Այլ որ ձեռնադրիցին, յամբարտաւանութենէ եւ ի մեծամտելոյ զգուշանայցէ. Եւ մի յայլ ինչ, քան զոր նմա ի հօրէն հրամայիցի, յանդգնեալ յօժարեսցի: Գիտասցէ, զի ինքն առաւել ընդ կանոնական կարգօք կայ. Զի մի պատճառանօք քահանայութեանն մոռացօնս ինչ կանոնաց պահպանութեան եւ խրատու առնիցէ, այլ եւս քան զեւս յառաջադէմ լինիցի ի Տէր:
| 63:2 But let the one who hath been ordained be on his guard against arrogance and pride, and let him not attempt to do anything but what is commanded him by the Abbot, knowing that he is now all the more subject to the discipline of the Rule; and in consequence of the priesthood let him not forget the obedience and discipline of the Rule, but advance more and more in godliness:

63:3 Իսկ տեղի զնոյն կալցի, զոր եւ ի մտանել ի վանսն կալաւ. Բաց ի սեղանոյ պաշտամանէն, եւ եթէ գուցէ ընտրութեամբ ժողովոյն եւ Աբասուն կամօք յաւանդութիւն ինչ հանել զնա կամեցեալ իցեն առ վարուցն լաւութեան: Այլ գիտասցէ, զի զկարգս որ ի գլխաւորացն եւ ի վերակացուաց եդան նմա առաջի, հասանէ պահպանել:
| 63:3 Let him, however, always keep the place which he had when he entered the monastery, except when he is engaged in sacred functions, unless the choice of the community and the wish of the Abbot have promoted him in acknowledgment of the merit of his life. Let him know, however, that he must observe the Rule prescribed by the Deans and the Superiors:

63:4 Այլ թէ այլազգ ինչ ժտեսցի, ոչ զքահանայութիւնն այնու հետեւ այլ զհեստութիւնն պարտ է դատապարտել:
| 63:4 If he should otherwise, let him be judged, not as a priest, but as a rebel:

63:5 Եւ եթէ բազում անգամ խրատեալ եւ չգայցէ յուղղութիւն, եւ Եպիսկոպոսն ի վկայութիւն կոչեսցի. եւ եթէ եւ ոչ այնու ինչ գայցէ ի խրատ, յետ յայտնի լինելոյ յանցանացն ի բաց ի վանացն մերժեսցի: Բայց միայն, եթէ այնչափ ինչ յանդգնեալ ժպրհեսցի, զի հլու եւ հնազանդ կանոնացն կալ չառնուցու յանձն:
| 63:5 and if after frequent warnings he doth not amend, and his guilt is clearly shown, let him be cast forth from the monastery, provided his obstinacy is such that he will neither submit nor obey the Rule:
