61:0 ՅԱՂԱԳՍ ՔԱՀԱՆԱՅԻՑ ՈՐ ԿԱՄԻՑԻՆ Ի ՎԱՆՍ ԲՆԱԿԵԼ:
| 61:0 Of Priests Who May Wish to Live in the Monastery:

61:1 Եթէ ի կարգէ քահանայից ոք ի մենաստան աղաչիցէ մտանել, մի այնպէս վաղվաղակի անսայցեն նմա. այլ թէ բնաւ կայցէ մնայցէ նա յաղաչանսն, գիտասցէ զի պարտ եւ արժան է նմա զամենայն կարգս կանոնացն պահել:
| 61:1 If a priest asketh to be received into the monastery, let consent not be granted too readily; still, if he urgently persisteth in his request, let him know that he must keep the whole discipline of the Rule:

61:2 Մի ակն ինչ ի նմանէ առնուցուն. նա թէ եւ ասիցեն իսկ ցնա, որպէս գրեալ է. թէ ընկեր վասն որո՞յ եկիրդ:
| 61:2 and that nothing will be relaxed in his favor, that it may be as it is written: “ Friend, whereunto art thou come:

61:3 Սակայն շնորհեսցի նմա յետ Աբասուն կալ, եւ օրհնել կամ պատարագել, եթէ հրամայիցէ Աբասն. ապա թէ ոչ, մի ինչ ժտեսցի առնել: Գիտասցէ, զի ընդ կանոնեալ կարգօք կայ, եւ ինքն առաւել օրինակ խոնարհութեան ամենեցուն լինիցի:
| 61:3 It may be granted him, however, to stand next after the Abbot, and to give the blessing, or to celebrate Mass, but only if the Abbot ordereth him to do so; but if he doth not bid him, let him not presume to do anything under whatever consideration, knowing that he is under the discipline of the Rule, and let him rather give examples of humility to all:

61:4 Այլ թէ կարգի ինչ եւ կամ այլոց իրաց պատճառք ի միջի կայցեն ի վանսն, զտեղին որ նմա ի միաբանութենէն ցուցանիցի, կալցէ. եւ ոչ զայն որ նմա ի մեծարանս քահանայութեան շնորհեալ էր:
| 61:4 But if there is a question of an appointment in the monastery, or any other matter, let him be ranked by the time of his entry into the monastery, and not by the place granted him in consideration of the priesthood:

61:5 Նոյնգունակ եթէ ի կղերականաց ոք նովին ցանկութեամբ մտանել ի միաբանութիւնն կամիցի, ի չափ ինչ տեղւոջ կացցէ. բայց եւ այն, եթէ զկանոնացն պահպանութիւն եւ զիւր հաստատութիւն խոստանայցէ:
| 61:5 But if a cleric, moved by the same desire, wisheth to join the monastery, let him too have a middle place, provided he promiseth to keep the Rule and personal stability:
