29:0 ՎԱՍՆ ԱՅՆՈՑԻԿ ՈՐ ԲԱԶՈՒՄ ԱՆԳԱՄ ԽՐԱՏԵԱԼ ՉՈՒՂՂԻՑԻՆ:
| 29:0 Of Those Who Having Often Been Corrected Do Not Amend:
| 29:1 Եթէ ոք եղբայր ստէպ ստէպ վասն որոց եւ պէտ յանցանաց յանդիմանեալ եւ որոշեալ եւս, եւ չուղղիցի, խստագոյնս եւս կշտամբեսցի. այս ինքն է, գանից պատուհասիւք զվրէժն լուծանիցէ:
| 29:1 If a brother hath often been corrected and hath even been excommunicated for a fault and doth not amend, let a more severe correction be applied to him, namely, proceed against him with corporal punishment:
| 29:2 Ապա եթէ եւ ոչ այնպէս զանձն ուղղեալ իցէ, եւ կամ թէ, որ մի իսկ լինիցի, յամբարտաւանութիւն հատեալ ջատագով եւս իւրոց գործոցն կայցէ, յայնժամ զայն զոր իմաստուն բժիշկն առնէ, գործիցէ նմա եւ Աբասն:
| 29:2 But if even then he doth not reform, or puffed up with pride, should perhaps, which God forbid, even defend his actions, then let the Abbot act like a prudent physician:
| 29:3 Եթէ կատարեաց զդարմանն եւ զսպեղանիս խրատուն, եւ զդեղս աստուածեղէն պատգամացն, եւ ապա յետոյ եւ զվերջին խարանսն ի հաղորդութենէ ի բաց որոշելոյ, եւ զգաւազանացն հարուածս. սակայն եւ այնպէս տեսանիցէ թէ ոչ ինչ օգտի բովանդակ հնարիւք իւրովք, յաւելցէ ի նոսին եւ զայն որ մեծն է, զիւր եւ զեղբարցն աղօթս միանգամայն վասն նորա. զի Տէր որ ամենայնի կարօղն է, աջողեսցէ զփրկութիւն եղբօրն հիւանդացելոյ:
| 29:3 After he hath applied soothing lotions, ointments of admonitions, medicaments of the Holy Scriptures, and if, as a last resource, he hath employed the caustic of excommunication and the blows of the lash, and seeth that even then his pains are of no avail, let him apply for that brother also what is more potent than all these measures: his own prayer and that of the brethren, that the Lord who is all- powerful may work a cure in that brother:
| 29:4 Այլ եթէ եւ ոչ այնու ինչ բուժեսցի, յայնժամ ապա զսուրն հատու որոշիչ, որպէս ասէ Առաքեալն, Աբասն ի կիր առնուցու. ի բաց արարէք զչարն ի միջոյ ձերմէ {(Ա. Կորն. Ե. 13)}: Եւ դարձեալ, թէ Անհաւատն եթէ մեկնի, մեկնեսցի {(Ա. Կորն. Է. 15)}. զի ոչխար մի հիւանդ զամենայն հօտն ապականից է:
| 29:4 But if he is not healed even in this way, then finally let the Abbot dismiss him from the community, as the Apostle saith: “ Put away the evil one from among you” {(1 Cor 5:13)}; and again: “ If the faithless depart, let him depart” {(1 Cor 7:15)}; lest one diseased sheep infect the whole flock:
