37:0 ՎԱՍՆ ԵՂԲԱՐՑ ՀԻՒԱՆԴԱՑ:
| 37:0 Of the Sick Brethren:

37:1 ԱՌԱՋԻՆ եւ առաւել քան զամենայն, հիւանդաց պարտ է խնամ տանել. որպէս զի իբրեւ արդարեւ Քրիստոսի, այնպէս պարտ է նոցա ի սպասու կալ, զի ինքն իսկ ասաց. Հիւանդ էի, ասէ, եւ տեսէք զիս {(Մտթ. ԻԵ. 36)}. եւ, Զոր արարէք միում ի փոքրականցս յայսցանէ ինձ արարէք:
| 37:1 Before and above all things, care must be taken of the sick, that they be served in very truth as Christ is served; because He hath said, “ I was sick and you visited Me” {(Mt 25:36)}. And “ As long as you did it to one of these My least brethren, you did it to Me:

37:2 Եւ նոքին իսկ հիւանդք գիտասցեն, զի վասն Աստուծոյ պատուոյն նոցա պաշտօն հարկանի. եւ մի աւելի թախանձելովն տրտմեցուցանիցեն զեղբարսն որ զնոսայն պաշտիցեն:
| 37:2 But let the sick themselves also consider that they are served for the honor of God, and let them not grieve their brethren who serve them by unnecessary demands:

37:3 Այլ այնպիսեացն մտադիւրագոյնս պարտ եւ պատշաճ է տանել, զի եւ մեծամեծս եւս վասն նոցա ընդունելոց են հատուցմունս:
| 37:3 These must, however, be patiently borne with, because from such as these a more bountiful reward is gained:

37:4 Ապա փոյթ մեծ յանձին կալցի Աբասն, զի մի իւիք անտես առնիցին:
| 37:4 Let the Abbot' s greatest concern, therefore, be that they suffer no neglect:
|
37:5 Եղբարց հիւանդաց լինիցի սենեակ զատեալ առանձինն: Եւ սպասաւորն երկիւղած իցէ յԱստուծոյ եւ ժիր եւ խնամակալու:
| 37:5 Let a cell be set apart for the sick brethren, and a God- fearing, diligent, and careful attendant be appointed to serve them:

37:6 Զբաղանիս, քանիցս անգամ թէ օգուտ իցէ, ի կիր առնուցուն: Այլ ողջոցն, եւ որ կարի մանկագոյնքն իցեն, դուն ուրեք շնորհեսցին:
| 37:6 Let the use of the bath be offered to the sick as often as it is useful, but let it be granted more rarely to the healthy and especially the young:

37:7 Բայց եւ զմիս ուտել հիւանդաց եւ որ բնաւ իսկ տկարն իցեն, շնորհեալ իցէ առ ի դարման:
| 37:7 Thus also let the use of meat be granted to the sick and to the very weak for their recovery:
|
37:8 Այլ յորժամ ապաքինեսցեն, ըստ ընտելական սովորութեան ամենեքին ի մսոյ ժուժկալեսցեն:
| 37:8 But when they have been restored let them all abstain from meat in the usual manner:
|
37:9 Այլ զգուշանալ պարտի Աբասն Մատակարարին եւ պաշտօնէիցն, զի մի զանց ինչ ուրեք զհիւանդովքն առնիցեն: Զի որովք աշակերտքն յանցանիցեն, պատճառք յանցուածոցն առ նա ինքն ընթանան:
| 37:9 But let the Abbot exercise the utmost care that the sick are not neglected by the Cellarer or the attendants, because whatever his disciples do amiss falleth back on him:
