2:1 Որդեա՛կ իմ եթէ մերձենաս ծառայել Աստուծոյ` պատրաստեա՛ զանձն քո ամենայն փորձութեան[5]:
| 2:1 My son, if thou come to serve the Lord, prepare thy soul for temptation:

2:2 Ուղի՛ղ արա զսիրտ քո՛. եւ զմիտս քո հաստատեա՛ համբերութեամբ: ՛Ի ժամանակի յորժամ փորձանք հասանիցեն:
| 2:2 Set thy heart aright, and constantly endure, and make not haste in time of trouble:
|
2:3 մե՛րձ լեր ՛ի Տէր` եւ մի՛ անհաւատար, զի բարձրասցիս ՛ի վախճանի:
| 2:3 Cleave unto him, and depart not away, that thou mayest be increased at thy last end:
|
2:4 Ամենայն փորձութիւնք որ գան քեզ` ուրախութեամբ ընկալ. եւ ՛ի ցաւս տառապանաց գոհութեամբ երկայնամի՛տ լիցիս:
| 2:4 Whatsoever is brought upon thee take cheerfully, and be patient when thou art changed to a low estate:

2:5 Զի ՛ի հուր փորձի ոսկի, իսկ մարդ փորձի ՛ի բովս խոնարհութեան[6]:
| 2:5 For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity:
|
2:6 Հաւատա՛ ՛ի Տէր եւ օգնեսցէ քեզ: Ուղիղ կալ զճանապարհս քո եւ յուսասջի՛ր ՛ի նա:
| 2:6 Believe in him, and he will help thee; order thy way aright, and trust in him:
|
2:7 Երկիւղածք Տեառն ա՛կն կալէք ողորմութեան նորա, եւ մի՛ խոտորիք, զի մի՛ կործանեսջիք:
| 2:7 Ye that fear the Lord, wait for his mercy; and go not aside, lest ye fall:
|
2:9 Երկիւղածք Տեառն ակնկալարո՛ւք բարւոյ, եւ ողորմութեան եւ ուրախութեանցն յաւիտենից:
| 2:8 Ye that fear the Lord, believe him; and your reward shall not fail.
KJV [9] Ye that fear the Lord, hope for good, and for everlasting joy and mercy:

2:11 Հայեցարո՛ւք յազգս առաջինս եւ տեսէք, ո՞վ հաւատաց ՛ի Տէր` եւ յամօթ եղեւ:
| 2:11 Look at the generations of old, and see:
|
2:12 եւ ո՞վ է որ եկաց յահի նորա` եւ նա եթող զնա. եւ կամ ո՞վ է որ կարդաց առ նա` եւ յապաղեաց:
| 2:12 did ever any trust in the Lord, and was confounded? or did any abide in his fear, and was forsaken? or whom did he ever despise, that called upon him:

2:13 զի գթած եւ ողորմած է Տէր, եւ թողու զմեղս, եւ փրկէ ՛ի ժամանակի նեղութեան:
| 2:13 KJV [11] For the Lord is full of compassion and mercy, longsuffering, and very pitiful, and forgiveth sins, and saveth in time of affliction:

2:14 Վա՞յ սրտից վատաց եւ ձեռաց լքելոց, եւ մեղաւորի` որ հասեալ իցէ ՛ի վերայ երկուց ճանապարհաց[7]:
| 2:14 Woe be to fearful hearts, and faint hands, and the sinner that goeth two ways:

2:15 վասն այնորիկ մի՛ ապրեսցին:

2:16 Վա՞յ որ կորուսեալ է զհամբերութիւն:

| 2:17 and what will ye do when the Lord shall visit you:

2:18 Երկիւղածք Տեառն հնազանդ լիցին բանից նորա. եւ որ սիրեն զնա` պահեն զպատուիրանս նորա:
| 2:18 KJV [16] They that fear the Lord will not disobey his Word; and they that love him will keep his ways:

2:19 Երկիւղածք Տեառն խնդրեսցեն զհաճոյս նորա, եւ որ սիրեն զնա լցցին յօրինաց նորա:
| 2:19 KJV [16] They that fear the Lord will seek that which is well, pleasing unto him; and they that love him shall be filled with the law:

2:20 Երկիւղածք Տեառն պատրաստեսցեն զսիրտս իւրեանց, եւ առաջի Տեառն խոնարհեցուսցեն զանձինս իւրեանց:

2:23 զի որպէս մեծութիւն նորա` սոյնպէս եւ ողորմութիւն, եւ որպէս անուն նորա` սոյնպէս եւ գործք:
| 2:23 for as his majesty is, so is his mercy:
