1:1 Ով զարմանալի խորհուրդ այս մեծ յայտնեալ. արարիչն Աստուած ի Յորդանան եկեալ կամէր մկրտիլ ի ծառայէն իւրմէ. չառնոյր Կարապետն, զմկրտելն ի յանձն:

1:1 O great and amazing mystery that has been revealed, God, the Creator, came upon the Jordan. He wished to be baptized by his servant, but John the Baptist ( the Forerunner) did not presume to baptize him:

1:2 Գետ, մի զարհուրիր, քո Արարիչն եմ ես. եկեալ մկրտիմ եւ լուանամ զմեղս:

1:2 River do not be afraid, I am your Creator. I have come to be baptized and wash away the sins of the world:
