3:1 Սարկաւագ. Ալէլուիա, ալէլուիա։ Երանի ամենեցուն որ բնակեալ են ի տան Տեառն, յաւիտեանս յաւիտենից օրհնեսցեն զնա։ Որպէս սիրելի են յարկք քո Տէր զօրութեանց, ցանկայ եւ փափագի անձն իմ ի գաւիթս քո, Սաղմոս {ՁԳ։1–4}: Պօղոսի առաքելոյն ի Թեսաղոնիկեցւոց առաջին թղթոյն է ընթերցուածս {Դ։12–17}: Ոչ կամիմ եղբարք՝ եթէ տգէտք իցէք վասն ննջեցելոցն. զի մի՛ տրտմիցիք որպէս եւ այլքն որոց ոչ գոյ յոյս։ Եթէ հաւատամք՝ եթէ Յիսուս մեռաւ եւ յարեաւ. Նոյնպէս եւ Աստուած զննջեցեալսն ի ձեռն Յիսուսի ածցէ ընդ նմա։ Բայց զայս ասեմք Տեառն բանիւ, թէ մեք որ կենդանիքս եմք մնացեալք՝ ի գալստեանն Տեառն՝ ոչ ժամանեմք ննջեցելոցն։ Զի ինքն Տէր հրամանաւ, ի ձայն հրեշտակապետի եւ ի փող Աստուծոյ իջանէ յերկնից, եւ մեռեալք ի Քրիստոս յարիցեն յառաջագոյն։ Ապա եւ մեք որ կենդանւոյն մնացեալ իցեմք, նոքօք հանդերձ յափշտակեսցուք ամպովք ընդ առաջ Տեառն յօդս. եւ այնպէս յամենայն ժամ ընդ Տեառն լինիցիմք։ Այսուհետեւ մխիթարեցէք զմիմեանս բանիւքս այսոքիւք:
| 3:1 Deacon: Alleluia, alleluia. Blessed are those who dwell in Thy house, ever singing Thy praise! How lovely is Thy dwelling place, O Lord of Hosts! My soul longs, yea, faints for the courts of the Lord. The reading is from the first Epistle of St. Paul to the Thessalonians. But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words:
