5:1 Եւ ապա ասէ. Խրատ. Տեսէ՛ք որդեակք, աստուածային հրամանաւն եւ կանոնիւք սուրբ Հայրապետացն եկեալ էք ի սուրբ Եկեղեցիս պսակիլ օրինօք եւ սուրբ ամուսնութիւն. Աստուած զձեզ միաբան սիրով պահեսցէ, ի խոր ծերութիւն հասուսցէ, եւ անթառամ պսակին արժանացուսցէ: Ապա տեսէ՛ք, որ յաշխարհիս վերայ պէս պէս փորձութիւնք կան. թէ հիւանդութիւն, եթէ աղքատութիւն, եւ թէ այլ ինչ նեղութիւն. Աստուած զձեզ յամենայն փորձութենէ հեռի պահեսցէ: Բայց Աստուծոյ հրամանն այս է, որ դուք երկոքեանդ մինչեւ ի մահ միմեանց օգնութիւն պարտիք անել:
| 5:1 Priest: EXHORTATION. Behold beloved children of God, ( name of bridegroom) and ( name of bride) By divine ordinance and according to the canons of the holy patriarchs, you have come to this holy church to be crowned lawfully into holy matrimony. May God keep you in mutual love, make you attain a ripe old age and make you worthy of the unfading, heavenly crown. Yet behold in this world there are all kinds of tribulations such as sickness, poverty and many other afflictions. May God keep you away from all tribulations. But it is God’s command that you two are in bounden duty to help one another until death:

5:2 Եւ նախ հարցանէ Փեսայն երիցս անգամ: Ո՛րդեակ իմ, մինչեւ ի մահ տէ՞ր ես:
| 5:2 Priest: ( Asking the bridegroom) My son, will you love, cherish, and protect ( name of bride) until death:

5:3 Եւ Փեսայն ասէ. Այո Հայր սուրբ, տէր եմ հրամանաւն Աստուծոյ:
| 5:3 Bridegroom: Yes, Father I will:

5:4 Եւ ապա հարցանէ Հարսին երիցս անգամ: Ո՛րդեակ իմ եւ դու մինչեւ ի մահ հնազա՞նդ ես:
| 5:4 Priest: ( Asking the bride) My daughter, will you love, cherish and honor ( name of bridegroom) until death:

5:5 Եւ Հարսն ասէ. Այո Հայր սուրբ, հնազանդ եմ հրամանաւն Աստուծոյ:
| 5:5 Bride: Yes, Father I will:

5:6 Եւ ասէ Քահանայն. Այս բանիս վկայ` Աստուած է, որ աներեւութապէս ի վերայ սուրբ Սեղանոյս բազմեալ է: Այլ եւ մեր պահապան հրեշտակքն, այս սուրբ Եկեղեցիս, սուրբ Խաչս եւ սուրբ Աւետարանս. Դասք քահանայից, եւ երամք ժողովրդոց. Սոքա ամենեքեան վկայ լինի՞ն մի:
| 5:6 Priest: Of these words God is witness, who is invisibly seated upon the Holy Altar. Our guardian angels, this Holy Church, this Holy Cross, and the Holy Gospel, the ranks of the priests and the multitude of the people, shall all these also be witness to your promises:

5:7 Եւ նոքա ասէն. Այո Հայր սուրբ, վկայ թող լինին:
| 5:7 Bride and bridegroom: Yes, Father, they shall:

5:8 Եւ ասէ Քահանայն. Աստուած ի մէջ սոցա, եւ սոքա մի՛ սասանեսցին. օգնեսցէ սոցա Աստուած ի վաղորդենէ մինչեւ ի վաղորդայն։ Մտանեն յԵկեղեցին եւ ասեն:
| 5:8 Priest: God be in the midst of these that they may not be shaken. May God help them from morn to morn, always:
