Senior Clerks. The light of day which suffered with you in the third hour grew dark. In the ninth hour it shone as a seal of the shadow of death. Blazing torch of light you gave up your soul to the Father and companion on your path to heaven. Guide us with your spirit.
Junior Clerk. The depths of hell shook and captive souls released, rocks split from rock, and from the tombs the dead arose, the elements of the earth shook and the pillars of the world trembled, those who flocked to you prayed that they would be ranked among the righteous.
Senior Clerk. You shown your splendor and now your show us mercy, you made our inform nature whole, grant that we may live without pain and in exchange of your life- giving death, save us. Beneficent Lord, we beseech you with the thief, remember us on the terrible day of judgment:

| 6:7 EXHORTATION
Deacon: With a pure heart and steadfast faith we pray to the Lord our God and Savior Jesus Christ, remembering his great and immeasurable grace, his suffering on the life- giving cross and the spilling of his liberating blood, and the other humiliations, which at this time for us sinners he bore for us. And as we ponder these, let us cleanse our thoughts, words and deeds of sin, and perfect the purity of our souls with the fear of God. Let us not delay the confession of our sins, and let us not perish unrepentant in eternal damnation. But while there is time, let us do good works in this life, having as examples the lives of the saints and victorious martyrs, who from the beginning were favored by the Lord and Savior of all. By their prayers and intercession grant us, may God who loves mankind his favor, direct us toward our benefit, and make us worthy to partake of his bounty beyond telling, as was promise to those whom he loved by our true God. Save us and have mercy.

Priest: Lord, have mercy, Lord, have mercy, Lord, have mercy. Christ, Son of God, unvengeful and merciful. Have mercy with your love as Creator upon the souls of your departed servants. Remember them on the day of the great coming of your kingdom. Make them worthy of mercy, forgiveness and remission of sins. Rank them among your saints and make them shine along on your right side. And to you is fitting glory, dominion, and honor, now and always, for ever and ever. Amen:
