1:0 Նախերգան: (Մինչ սարկաւագը ամբողջական ուշադրութեան հրաւէր կը կարդայ ժողովուրդին, քահանան կը սկսի լռելյայն կարդալ Գոհաբանութեան աղօթքը, ամենէն երկար եւ կարեւոր աղօթքը Ս. Պատարագի: Աղօթքը կ'արտայայտէ Հայ Եկեղեցւոյ հաւատքը: Աղօթքը ուղղուած Հօր Աստուծոյ, կը յիշատակէ մեր փրկութիւնը Աստուծոյ Որդիին Հիսուսի Քրիստոսի մասնաւոր առաքելութեան միջոցաւ: Աղօթքը կը վերյիշէ կարեւոր պատմական դէպքերը որով Քրիստոս մեզի բերած եղաւ "ազատութիւն դատապարտութենէ"` իր մարդեղութիւնը, իր տառապանքը, խաչելութիւնը, մահը եւ թաղումը, իր յարութիւնը երրորդ օրը եւ իր երկինք համբարձումը Հօր քով: Փոխասացութիւնը սարկաւագին, դպրաց դասին, եւ քահանային միջեւ որ կը կանխէ Գոհաբանութեան աղօթքը, կը յորդորէ հաւատացեալներու ժողովը ուշադիր վիճակի մէջ ըլլալ Ս. Պատարագի այս կարեւոր բաժնի նկատմամբ:)
| 1:0 The Prologue: While the deacon calls the people to undivided attention, the priest beings to pray the Anaphora, or Eucharistic Prayer, the longest and most important prayer of the Divine Liturgy. The prayer expresses the faith of the Armenian Church. Addressed to God the Father, the prayer commemorates our salvation through the special ministry of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The prayer recalls the key biblical events by which Christ has brought us freedom from condemnation: his incarnation, his suffering, crucifixion, death and burial, his resurrection on the third day, his ascension into heaven with the Father, and his second coming. The dialogue between the deacon, choir and priest, which precedes the Eucharistic Prayer exhorts the assembly to heightened attention for this important part of the Divine Liturgy:

1:3 Դպիրքն. Վեր համբառնամք զաչս ունելով, եւ պաղատիմք զայս ասելով. Զմեղս մեր մի յիշեսցես, այլ գթութեամբ քո քաւեսցես: Ընդ հրեշտակացն օրհնեմք զքեզ, եւ ընդ սրբոց քոց, Տէր փառք քեզ:
| 1:3 Choir: We lift up our eyes and behold and implore him saying: Remember not our sins, O Lord, but in your compassion forgive us. With the angels and with your saints we praise you, Lord; glory to you:

1:4 Սարկաւագն. Ահիւ կացցուք, երկիւղիւ կացցուք, բարւոք կացցուք, եւ նայեցարուք զգուշութեամբ:
| 1:4 Deacon: Let us stand in awe, let us stand in the fear of the Lord, let us stand straight, let us attend with good heed:

1:10 Սարկաւագն. Զդրունս, զդրունս. Ամենայն իմաստութեամբ եւ զգուշութեամբ: Ի վեր ընծայեցուցէք զմիտս ձեր աստուածային երկիւղիւ:
