16:1 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD:
| 16:1 Մարդոյ իրս ինչ դնել ի սրտի, եւ ի Տեառնէ է պատասխանի լեզուի:
|
16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits:
| 16:2 Ամենայն գործք խոնարհին յայտնի են առաջի Աստուծոյ, եւ հաստատէ զոգիս Տէր:
|
16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established:
| 16:3 Դարձո առ Տէր զգործս քո, եւ հաստատեսցին խորհուրդք քո: Որչափ ի մեծութիւն հասանիցես` ի խոնարհութեան կալ զանձն քո, եւ առաջի Տեառն գտցես շնորհս:

16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil:
| 16:4 Զամենայն ինչ գործեաց Տէր վասն իւր, իսկ ամպարիշտք յաւուր չարի կորիցեն:
|
16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished:
| 16:5 Պիղծ է առաջի Տեառն ամենայն մեծամիտ. որ ձեռնամուխ լինի տարապարտուց` ոչ արդարասցի: Սկիզբն ճանապարհի բարւոյ` գործելն զարդարութիւն, եւ ընդունելի են Աստուծոյ աղօթք` քան մատուցանել պատարագս:

16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil:
| 16:6 Որ խնդրէ զՏէր` գտցէ զգիտութիւն արդարութեամբ հանդերձ, եւ որ ուղղութեամբն խնդրեն զնա` գտցեն զխաղաղութիւն:

16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him:
| 16:7 Զի ամենայն գործք Աստուծոյ արդարութեամբ են. ամպարիշտ պահի աւուր չարի:
|
16:8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right:
| 16:8 Լաւ է սակաւիկ ինչ առնուլ երկիւղիւ Տեառն``, քան զգանձս մեծամեծս ամպարշտութեամբ:
|
16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps:
| 16:9 Սիրտ առն խորհեսցի զիրաւունս, զի յԱստուծոյ`` ուղղեսցին գնացք նորա:
|
16:10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment:
| 16:10 Մարգարէութիւն է ի շրթունս թագաւորի, եւ ի դատաստանի մի՛ մոլորեսցի բերան նորա:
|
16:11 A just weight and balance are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag are his work:
| 16:11 Մէտ կշռոց է արդարութիւն ի Տեառնէ, եւ գործք նորա կշիռք արդարք:
|
16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness:
| 16:12 Գարշելի է թագաւորի որ առնէ զչարիս, զի արդարութեամբ հաստատի աթոռ իշխանութեան նորա:
|
16:13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right:
| 16:13 Ընդունելի են թագաւորի շրթունք արդարք, զբանս ուղիղս սիրէ Տէր:
|
16:14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it:
| 16:14 Սրտմտութիւն թագաւորի հրեշտակ մահու, եւ այր իմաստուն` ցածուցանէ զնա:
|
16:15 In the light of the king’s countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain:
| 16:15 Ի լոյս կենաց` որդի թագաւորի, եւ ընդունելիք նորա իբրեւ զամպ անագան:
|
16:16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver:
| 16:16 Դադարք իմաստութեան` ցանկալի են քան զոսկի, դադարք հանճարոյ` ցանկալի են քան զարծաթ:
|
16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul:
| 16:17 Շաւիղք կենաց խոտորեն ի չարեաց, երկայնութիւն կենաց ճանապարհք արդարութեան: Որ ընդունի զխրատ` ի բարիս եղիցի, եւ որ պահէ զյանդիմանութիւն` իմաստնասցի: Որ զգուշանայ ճանապարհաց Տեառն` պահէ զանձն իւր. որ սիրէ զկեանս` խնայեսցէ ի բերան իւր:

16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall:
| 16:18 Յառաջ քան զբեկումն` համարին թշնամանք, եւ նախ քան զգլորումն` չարաբարութիւն:
|
16:19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud:
| 16:19 Լաւ է հանդարտասիրտն խոնարհութեամբ, քան զայն որ բաժանէ զաւար ընդ թշնամանօղս:
|
16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he:
| 16:20 Որ իմաստուն է յիրս` գտանէ զբարիս, եւ որ յուսայ ի Տէր` երանելի է:
|
16:21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning:
| 16:21 Զիմաստունս եւ զհանճարեղս` անմիտս կոչեն, եւ որ քաղցր են բանիւք` աւելի եւս լուիցեն:
|
16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly:
| 16:22 Աղբեւր կենաց են միտք` որոց ունիցին զնա. խրատ անմտաց չար է:
|
16:23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips:
| 16:23 Սիրտ իմաստնոյ իմանայ որ ինչ յիւրմէ բերանոյ, եւ ի շրթունս իւր խորհեսցի զիրաւագիտութիւն:
|
16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones:
| 16:24 Խորիսխ մեղու` բանք բարիք, եւ քաղցրութիւն նորա բժշկութիւն հոգւոց:
|
16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death:
| 16:25 Են ճանապարհք որ թուին մարդոյ թէ ուղիղ իցեն, եւ կատարած նոցա հայի յատակս դժոխոց:
|
16:26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him:
| 16:26 Այր ի վաստակս ջանայ անձին իւրում, եւ բռնազբօսէ իւր զկորուստ. իսկ թեւրն` ի բերան իւր կրէ զկորուստ:
|
16:27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire:
| 16:27 Այր անզգամ փորէ անձին իւրում`` չարիս, եւ ի վերայ շրթանց իւրոց գանձէ հուր:
|
16:28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends:
| 16:28 Այր խորամանկ նիտայ զչարիս. եւ լապտեր նենգութեան բորբոքի չարեօք, եւ`` քակէ զբարեկամս:
|
16:29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good:
| 16:29 Այր անօրէն փորձ փորձ առնէ զբարեկամաց, եւ տանի զնոսա`` ի ճանապարհս անբարիս:
|
16:30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass:
| 16:30 Որ հաստատէ զաչս իւր եւ խորհի զկամակորս, եւ վիճէ շրթամբք իւրովք զամենայն չարիս, այնպիսին է հնոց չարեաց:

16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness:
| 16:31 Պսակ պարծանաց ծերութիւն, եւ`` ի ճանապարհս արդարութեան գտանի:
|
16:32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city:
| 16:32 Լաւ է այր երկայնամիտ քան զհզօր. եւ այր որ ունի զիմաստութիւն` քան զանդս մեծամեծս, եւ որ յաղթէ բարկութեան` քան որ առնուցու զքաղաք հզօր:

16:33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD:
| 16:33 Անդրէն ի ծոց իւրեանց դառնայ ամենայն ինչ անիրաւաց, այլ ի Տեառնէ ամենեցուն իրաւունք են:
