It is the remembrance of the Last Supper, the meal Jesus had with his disciples on Holy Thursday, the night he was arrested and the day before he was crucified. Eating from the same loaf and drinking wine from the same cup was symbolic of their unity with each other in Christ (communion). This is the origin of the Holy Communion ritual, joyously celebrated each Sunday in commemoration of Christ’s life, teaching and resurrection.

These materials aim to equip you to understand the structure and basic meaning of the Armenian Badarak.

Print out Home Resource Guide

– The Sacraments; Holy Communion: A Guide for Meaningful Participation
– Mastering the Communion Service

Notes on Holy Communion

– Desktop Video*
word-by-word pronunciation, with audio, translation into English and Russian
– Downloadable Desktop Version*
word-by-word pronunciation, with audio, translation into English and Russian
– Printable Version (.pdf)
word-by-word pronunciation, with audio, translation into English and Russian

Printable 1-Page Holy Communion Outline

– English
– Armenian

Where to Start:

1.
