The Badarak is the core of Sunday worship in the Armenian Apostolic Church. It is the remembrance of the Last Supper, the meal Jesus had with his disciples on Holy Thursday, the night he was arrested and the day before he was crucified. Eating from the same loaf and drinking wine from the same cup was symbolic of their unity with each other in Christ (communion). This is the origin of the Holy Communion ritual, joyously celebrated each Sunday in commemoration of Christ’s life, teaching and resurrection.<\/p>\n
