3:1 Եւ մանուկն Սամուէլ կայր ի սպասու Տեառն առաջի Հեղեայ [63]քահանայի. եւ բան Տեառն պատուական էր յաւուրսն յայնոսիկ, եւ ոչ գոյր տեսիլ որ գուշակէր:
| 3:1 And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; [there was] no open vision:
|
3:2 Եւ եղեւ յաւուր յայնմիկ ննջէր Հեղի ի տեղւոջ իւրում. եւ աչք նորա սկսան ծանրանալ եւ ոչ կարէր տեսանել:
| 3:2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli [was] laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, [that] he could not see:
|
3:3 եւ ճրագն Աստուծոյ չեւ եւս էր անցեալ, եւ Սամուէլ ննջէր ի տաճարին Տեառն ուր էր տապանակն Աստուծոյ:
| 3:3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God [was], and Samuel was laid down:
|
3:4 Եւ կոչեաց [64]Տէր եւ ասէ. Սամուէլ, Սամուէլ: Եւ ասէ``. Աւասիկ եմ:
| 3:4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here [am] I:
|
3:5 Եւ ընթացաւ առ Հեղի եւ ասէ. Աւասիկ եմ ես, զի կոչեցեր զիս: Եւ ասէ. Ոչ կոչեցի զքեզ, դարձիր անդրէն եւ ննջեա: Եւ դարձաւ անդրէն եւ ննջեաց:
| 3:5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here [am] I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down:
|
3:6 Եւ յաւել Տէր միւս անգամ [65]կոչել, եւ ասէ. Սամուէլ, Սամուէլ``: Եւ յարեաւ Սամուէլ չոգաւ առ Հեղի [66]երկրորդ անգամ`` եւ ասէ. Աւասիկ եմ, զի կոչեցեր զիս: Եւ ասէ. Ոչ կոչեցի զքեզ, որդեակ իմ, դարձիր անդրէն եւ ննջեա:
| 3:6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here [am] I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again:
|
3:7 Եւ [67]Սամուէլ նախածանօթ էր Աստուծոյ``, եւ չեւ եւս յայտնեալ էր նմա բան Տեառն:
| 3:7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him:
|
3:8 Եւ յաւել Տէր միւս անգամ կոչել զՍամուէլ յերրորդում նուագին. եւ յարեաւ չոգաւ առ Հեղի եւ ասէ. Աւասիկ եմ ես, զի կոչեցեր զիս: Եւ իմացաւ Հեղի` թէ Տէր կոչէ զմանուկն:
| 3:8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here [am] I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child:
|
3:9 Եւ ասէ Հեղի ցՍամուէլ. Դարձիր անդրէն եւ ննջեա, [68]որդեակ. եւ եղիցի եթէ կոչեսցէ զքեզ, ասասցես. Խօսեաց, Տէր, զի լուիցէ ծառայ քո: Եւ գնաց Սամուէլ եւ ննջեաց ի տեղւոջ իւրում:
| 3:9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place:

3:10 Եւ եկն Տէր եկաց ի վերայ եւ կոչեաց զնա որպէս միանգամն եւ միւսանգամ. Սամուէլ, Սամուէլ: Եւ ասէ Սամուէլ. Խօսեաց, Տէր, զի լուիցէ ծառայ քո:
| 3:10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth:
|
3:11 Եւ ասէ Տէր ցՍամուէլ. Ահա ես առնեմ զբանս իմ ի մէջ Իսրայելի, որպէս զի ամենայնի որ լսիցէ զնոսա` հնչեսցեն երկոքեան ականջք իւր:
| 3:11 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle:
|
3:12 Յաւուր յայնմիկ յարուցից ի վերայ Հեղեայ զամենայն ինչ զոր խօսեցայ ի վերայ տան նորա. սկսայց եւ կատարեցից:
| 3:12 In that day I will perform against Eli all [things] which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end:
|
3:13 որպէս պատմեցի նմա եթէ խնդրեցից վրէժ ի տանէ նորա մինչեւ յաւիտեան վասն [69]անօրէնութեան որդւոց նորա. զի հայհոյէին զԱստուած`` որդիք նորա, եւ նա ոչ խրատէր զնոսա:
| 3:13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not:
|
3:14 [70]Եւ ոչ այնպէս. այլ`` երդուայ տանն Հեղեայ, եթէ ոչ քաւեսցի անօրէնութիւն տանն Հեղեայ [71]խնկովք եւ զոհիւք մինչեւ յաւիտեան:
| 3:14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli' s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever:
|
3:15 Եւ ննջեաց Սամուէլ մինչեւ ցառաւօտն, [72]եւ կանխեաց ընդ առաւօտն`` եւ եբաց զդուրս տանն Տեառն. եւ Սամուէլ երկեաւ պատմել զտեսիլն Հեղեայ:
| 3:15 And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision:
|
3:16 Եւ ասէ Հեղի ցՍամուէլ. Սամուէլ, որդեակ: Եւ ասէ. Աւասիկ ես:
| 3:16 Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here [am] I:
|
3:17 Եւ ասէ. Զի՞նչ է բանն խօսեցեալ ընդ քեզ. մի՛ թաքուցաներ յինէն. օն եւ օն արասցէ ընդ քեզ Աստուած, եւ օն եւ օն յաւելցէ` եթէ թաքուսցես յինէն բան մի յամենայն բանից խօսեցելոց յականջս քո:
| 3:17 And he said, What [is] the thing that [the LORD] hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide [it] not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide [any] thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee:

3:18 Եւ պատմեաց նմա Սամուէլ զամենայն բանսն, եւ ոչ թաքոյց ի նմանէ: Եւ ասէ Հեղի. [73]Տէր որ ինչ բարի է առաջի իւր ինքն արասցէ:
| 3:18 And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It [is] the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good:
|
3:19 Եւ մեծացաւ Սամուէլ, եւ էր Տէր ընդ նմա, եւ ոչ անկաւ յամենայն բանից նորա ի գետին:
| 3:19 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground:
|
3:20 Եւ գիտաց ամենայն Իսրայէլ ի Դանայ մինչեւ ցԲերսաբէէ թէ հաւատարիմ է Սամուէլ ի մարգարէ Տեառն:
| 3:20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beer- sheba knew that Samuel [was] established [to be] a prophet of the LORD:
|
3:21 Եւ յաւել Տէր [74]գուշակել ի Սելով, թէ`` յայտնեցաւ Տէր Սամուելի ի Սելով ըստ բանին Տեառն. [75]եւ հաւատարիմ եղեւ Սամուէլ լինել ի մարգարէ Տեառն յամենայն Իսրայելի ի ծագաց երկրին մինչեւ ի ծագս: Եւ Հեղի ծերացեալ էր յոյժ, եւ որդիք նորա երթային երթալով` եւ չար էր ճանապարհ նոցա:
| 3:21 And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD:
